At the time of this posting we were still awaiting word from the CSAP about their schools. When we have word from the French board it will be passed along.

With Tuesday's school cancellation this brings to six the number of school days that have been cancelled this school year due to the weather, says Tri-County Regional School Board superintendent Lisa Doucet.

Most of the school cancellations have come over the past three weeks.

On top of this number, in 2014-15 there has been one day where schools in all three counties had an early dismissal due to weather; one day when just schools in Digby county had early dismissal due to the weather and one day when Yarmouth county schools and the Barrington family of schools were dismissed early.

"Even though there is no board quota for number of storm days before we plan to make up days, when the number gets high we do discuss with principals which school activities should continue as planned and which should be cancelled in order to make up class time," Doucet says.

In 2013-14, TCRSB were closed in all three countries for nine days. In 2013-14 there was one early dismissal day for schools in all three counties, one early dismissal day for Digby and Yarmouth county schools and one early dismissal for Yarmouth and Shelburne county schools due to weather.

In addition to the public schools, classes at the NSCC Burridge Campus in Yarmouth are also cancelled for the day on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
