Arthur Fitzgerald — Yarmouth

FITZGERALD, Arthur Charles – Age 81, of Little River Harbour, Yarmouth Co., passed away surrounded by family on March 2nd, 2018 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth. Born in Little River Harbour on December 7th, 1936, he was a son of the late Ralph and Cedulie (Harris) Fitzgerald. Arthur was a wormer, apple picker and a fisherman. He loved gardening with his great grandkids. He made decoys, loved hunting and always doing something. Arthur is survived by his daughter, Pauline (Wayne) Fraser, Halifax; brothers, James, Arcadia; Burton (Ida), Dayton; Paul (Joan), Little River Harbour; Carl, Yarmouth; David (Vickie), Abram’s River; Bernie (Myrna), Nothingham, New Hampshire; Cecil, Melbourne; sisters, Catherine (Carroll) Saulnier, Pinkney’s Point; Lillian (Richard) Harvey, Sackville; Barbara (Richard) Muise; grandchildren, Melissa (Blair) Collier and Aaron Weagle (Becky); great grandchildren, Kinsley and Lucas Collier; many nieces and nephews. Arthur was predeceased by his brothers, Willard, Arthur in infancy, Joseph, Lloyd, Clarence, Delmer and Louis. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, where visitation was from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6th with prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Melbourne, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. A burial was held in Saint Gabriel’s Cemetery, Comeau’s Hill. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund.
