Bernice Winnifred Goodick (February 26, 1940 - July 12, 2018 ) GOODICK (Rennehan) Bernice Winnifred – age 78, Sandy Point passed away peacefully at Roseway Hospital on July 12, 2018. Born February 26, 1940 on McNutt’s Island, she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Annie (Snow) Rennehan. Bernice was a founding member and devoted volunteer at the Sandy Point Lighthouse Community Centre where she attended many events over the years, and even received a Governor General award for her work at the Lighthouse. Without her hard work and dedication, the Lighthouse would not be where it is today. She also volunteered with the NU2U, Meals on Wheels, Shelburne Food Bank and campaigned door to door for the Diabetes fund. All were welcomed into her home. She was a great story teller and an avid gardener, loved playing cards, and enjoyed her Christmas club, but her heart was always with the Sandy Point Lighthouse. Bernice is survived by daughters, April, Julie (Rex), Robyn; sons; Johnnie (Gina) and Andrew (Kelly). Daughter in law, Linda; brother, Harry; sister Ruby, grandchildren; Connor, Keegan, Chance, Kennedi, Carson, Lucas, Tahla, Shannon, Calvin, Colby, Shania, Shaemus, Hailey; great-grandchildren; Jayden, Layton; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Bernice was predeceased by her husband Ernest and son Harry, brothers Richard and Eugene. Donations can be made in memoriam to the Sandy Point Lighthouse Community Centre. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home Shelburne. A visitation took place on Tuesday July 17 th from 7-9 pm at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home Shelburne where a Celebration of Life took place at 2:00 pm on Wednesday July 18 th.
