Carmel Mcintosh
McINTOSH, M. Carmel – The family of M. Carmel McIntosh regret to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Carmel is survived by her husband of 61 years, Alex McIntosh, along with children, Linda, Ken (Liz) and Laurie (Alan); grandchildren, Maxine, Tiffany, Kyle, Sebastien, Stephen and Erin; great grandchildren, Sophia, Oliver, Kaleb, Alexis and Sofia; a sister, Annamay Whyte. Born in 1935 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Carmel was predeceased by brothers, Pat, Gerald and Cyril; sisters, Yvonne and Ethel, as well as by a son-in-law, Paul Dion. Carmel was a lifelong member of the Catholic Women’s League. She was also very involved with the Knights of Columbus social activities and traveled extensively with Alex to attend annual conventions. Mom’s biggest and best accomplishment was her family. She showed her love to all of us in so many ways. We will always be grateful that she was in our lives. Growing up in our family was special, not only for the three of us, but for many of our friends who called our mother “Mom” - we know they are hurting along with us. The family would like to thank all medical personnel involved in mom’s care over the past several years. A special thank you to Dr. Marais, Pam, staff of 3-South, Dr. Wertlen, VON and Homecare. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A funeral mass took place at St. Ambrose Co-Cathedral, Yarmouth, at 2 p.m., Friday, November 17, Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. A reception followed in the Jubilee Room (downstairs at the Cathedral). Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
