Elinor Blackie — Yarmouth

BLACKIE, Elinor Hall, Yarmouth. It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Elinor Blackie at the age of 99. Born August 22, 1919, she was the only daughter to the late Gordon and Anna (Hall) Blackie. Elinor was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She attended Mount Allison University and graduated in 1939 with a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics. She was a Home Economics teacher for many years, teaching in the Yarmouth School system and working at the NS Department of Agriculture. In accordance with Elinor’s wishes there will be a private Interment in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth.
