Melissa (Leblanc) Burke — St. Peter's

Age 36 - It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden death of Melissa (LeBlanc) Burke which occurred on April 19, 2018. Melissa was born on November 4, 1981 and moved from Edmonton, AB to St. Peter's, NS with her young family in July of 2012. She is survived by her loving husband Marc Burke and her two cherished daughters, Brooke 11 and Rose 4. Also surviving are her parents Steve LeBlanc, Viking and Sandra LeBlanc (Shawn) Edmonton; brother, Jason LeBlanc (Dana), Viking; step brother Nathan Larson (Angelina), Edmonton; mother-in-law Rena Robertson, St. Peter's; father-in-law, Louis Burke (Helena), Cheticamp; brothers-in-law Russ Burke, Shannon Burke (Taya), Logan Burke (Evelyn), Charlie Robertson (Sarah); grandmothers, Edith LeBlanc, Shirley Charnock, Bertha Burke, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Melissa recently successfully completed her studies at Island Career Academy to become a Registered Massage Therapist and had just started her career as a RMT working from her office at home which she absolutely loved. Melissa loved hiking, beach walking and watching her girls dance. She loved her family and friends and they in turn loved her. She was a remarkable, honest, caring person who simply loved her family and loved life. She will be missed by all who knew her. We were blessed to have Melissa in our lives. There was no visitation. Funeral mass took place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, St. Peter's Catholic Church, St. Peter's, NS, Father Antolin Asor officiated. Private burial took place following mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Fire Department.
