Norman Perry
Perry, Norman Leigh-93, Shelburne, passed away at home on July 27, 2018. Born at North East Harbour, Shelburne County, on November 26, 1924, he was the youngest son of the late Enos Elliott and Juena (Jean) Medeline (Greenwood) Perry. Norman was a graduate of Nova Scotia Technical College, Halifax in 1945, with a degree in machine fitting. In later years he joined the firm of Shelburne Construction where he was employed until 1973. Following this he was self-employed in property maintenance throughout Shelburne County until retirement in 1986 due to ill health. Norman is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, the former Catherine “Marie” Markey; brother, Osborne, North East Harbour, as well as nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers, Elliott, Ralph, Harold and Eugene; sisters, Mildred Fralick; Laura Ellen in infancy. Visitation was Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. Funeral mass was held on Tuesday at 11 am from St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Shelburne, with Father Charles Offor officiating. Burial in the churchyard cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Saint Thomas Church, Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.
