Jeffery, Robert “Bob” Bruce-79, Shelburne, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Roseway Manor on January 23, 2018 from Lewy Body Dementia. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Robert Jeffery Sr. and Ella (Christie) Jeffery. The family moved from Tusket to Shelburne in 1949 where Bob lived the rest of his life. Bob worked at DND Shelburne as a fire chief for 32 years and as a volunteer with the Shelburne Fire Department for 30 years. Bob was dedicated to his family, but above all, to his wife Ruthie. He and Ruthie had a very special and close relationship for 65 years. All of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren have special memories of the times they spent with “Grampy” or “G.G.” Bob loved spending time at the cottage with his family . He and Ruthie also loved to travel and go camping; he loved playing golf with his buddies until he could no longer play, and he loved his Blue Jays. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Ruthie; daughters, Donna; Karen (Brian) Putnam, son, Dale (Ann) and daughter Linda( Robbie) Patriquin; nine grandchildren, Aden (Kelly) Cosgrove and Jeff Cosgrove; Chelsea Putnam and Sarah Putnam; Curtis (Jenn) Jeffery, Angela ( Logan) Hartman; Eric ( Amber) Jeffery; Alex (Allison) Brown; Dylan Patriquin; great-grandchildren, Adrian Cosgrove, Keegan Hartman, Mika Hartman and Lennox Jeffery, with another on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Allan Jeffery and wife, Thelma. Bob was predeceased by his sister, Donna Gayle Jeffery (his eldest daughter’s namesake) and his very special first grandson in infancy, Timothy Andrew Jeffery. Special thanks go to the Continuing Care Workers through the VON, also the staff at Digby Tideview Terrace Manor as well as the staff at Roseway Manor. Special thanks to Ann Jeffery for everything she did to help make Bob’s transition easier for us all. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M.
