Rosella Doucette — Wedgeport

DOUCETTE, Rosella Ann – age 77, Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at home. Born September 11, 1940 in Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late Belonie and Hilda (Surette) Cottreau. Rosella served with the Royal Canadian Air Force and was also a homemaker. She was a member of the RCAF Airwomen’s group. She enjoyed doing puzzles, reading and camping in the summer. Every week she looked forward for Tuesday, so she could spend time with Wanda Cottreau shopping and then going for lunch at Pizza Delight, where they were well known and had their own table. She is survived by her husband, John Doucette, as well as by their children Carmen (Ron) Thibeau and Shawn (Anne) Doucette, both of Wedgeport, as well as grandsons, Jon and Mark. Also surviving are brothers Louis (Phyllis) Cottreau, Wedgeport; Raymond (Josephine) Cottreau, British Columbia; Leonard (Muriel) Cottreau, Yarmouth. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Frederick and Albert in childhood and Ernest Cottreau. There was no visitation by request. The funeral Mass was held on Monday, May 7 at 11 a.m. from Saint Michael’s Church, Wedgeport, Father Albéni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
