Re: "Good vibes from downtown music" Feb. 4 edition.

Despite the claims that the music blaring on Main Street has been well received, I object to the whole project. What was town council thinking in spending $ 17,000 of our taxes to impose this noise pollution on the public, without first consulting us ? Did anyone think to consider the impact on those who actually live there ?

If business people want music inside their own premises, that's fine, but why do they have the right to invade our space ?

And now, horror of horrors, we hear that the plan is to extend the system and even include Frost Park ! This park is where one can step away from the traffic and enjoy the wonders of nature, listen to the birds sing and enjoy the sound of gentle flowing waters. Will town councillors allow such an abuse of our public garden ?  Unthinkable.
