Starlink Aviation celebrating new Yarmouth air service with ceremony at Halifax airport Tuesday

Starlink Aviation will be celebrating its new Yarmouth International Air service and holding a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Halifax airport on Tuesday, May 12 at 2:30 pm in the Distinguished Visitor’s Lounge.

Starlink Aviation launched their international service to Halifax from Yarmouth on Feb. 9 and to Portland, Maine on Feb. 16, under contract to the Yarmouth International Airport.

President and CEO of Starlink Aviation, Glen Lynch, will be joined by several business dignitaries from Nova Scotia to help welcome Maine’s Commissioner of Economic Development, John Richardson, and the President of the Maine International Trade Center, Janine Bisaillon-Cary, and representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and City of Portland. The delegation will also be greeted in Yarmouth by local officials. Richardson will give a brief news conference at the Yarmouth airport at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Starlink say’s its mission for the Yarmouth international air service is to proactively fulfill the transportation needs of Yarmouth and the surrounding communities of South West Nova Scotia. Since Starlink Aviation began the Yarmouth air service in February, they have committed to becoming engaged in the community, hiring local people, sponsoring local events, supporting its various organizations, and creating new partnership opportunities with business leaders in Yarmouth and Halifax.

The company also recently partnered with the MacDonnell Group in Halifax, as their first official sponsor for the Creative Nova Scotia conference being held in Yarmouth in October. The Yarmouth international air service offers a multitude of opportunities for companies to form business partnerships for the people of Maine and Nova Scotia. The Maine delegation will be greeted in Halifax and meetings have been scheduled at various venues throughout the week in the Halifax area, to discuss potential opportunities for business in Maine and the Maritimes, now the new air service is in operation.

Since its inception, the Portland, Maine destination has been the busiest leg of their flight schedule. It has opened up many new target markets for Halifax and all of South West Nova Scotia to the Portland, Maine area as well as the Boston, Massachusetts market. Starlink scheduled flights include two flights daily to Portland Maine and to Halifax from Yarmouth.
