Doctor shortage cited

The emergency department at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Middleton won't be open on Monday due to a doctor shortage.

The January 30 interruption of service begins at 6 a.m. and continues until Tuesday, January 31 at 8 a.m.

Annapolis Valley Health said people seeking non-emergency health information can speak with a registered nurse by telephoning 811.

In the case of an emergency call 911.

The emergency department at Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, and the emergency department at Annapolis Community Health Centre in Annapolis Royal are available for emergency care.

AVH said it apologizes for any inconvenience.
