Kings County council is going to wait to fold the planning advisory committee into committee of the whole.

Council  agreed July 31 to wait until more information on including citizen representation is provided during a review of planning items.

Deputy Warden Janet Newton said she isn’t interested in delay and would vote against the motion.

“It’s time we got going with rolling PAC into committee of the whole,” Newton said.

Council is considering rolling planning advisory into committee of the whole as part of a committee restructuring. Bylaw amendments allowing other committees to be folded into committee of the whole have already been approved.

The subject was discussed at length at the July 24 council advisory committee meeting.
