Gateways split season-opening doubleheader with Windsor

The Yarmouth Gateways began their 2014 Nova Scotia Intermediate Baseball League season Sunday afternoon by splitting a doubleheader with the Windsor Knights at Gateway Park.

Yarmouth took the first game 15-5 and dropped the second 4-0.

In the opener, Yarmouth’s Tristan Reede went four for four with three doubles and teammates Chris MacDonald and Darren Ogden had three and four runs batted in, respectively.

Tin Clayton was the winning pitcher.

In the next game, the Gateways could manage only three hits while Colin Jeffery took the loss.
