The Nova Scotia Intermediate Baseball League championship tournament got underway Aug. 23 with the four teams that finished at the top of the standings this season competing for the title.

The opening game between the Yarmouth Pub Gateways (who finished in first place) and Pictou County Albions took nine innings to decide, with Yarmouth winning it 3-2. The second game of the day was between the Noel Road Blue Jays, who finished in second place, and the third place Windsor Knights. Action continued throughout the afternoon.

The championship semi-finals will be held Sunday morning, Aug. 24, and the final immediately thereafter. First game of the day will be at 10 a.m. at the Noel Road ball field.
