Halifax team wins under-13 provincial curling jamboree in Yarmouth

The Nick Mosher team from CFB Halifax Curling Club, champions of the under-13 provincial curling jamboree held in Yarmouth Feb. 24-26.


YARMOUTH -- The team skipped by Nick Mosher from CFB Halifax Curling Club was the winner of the under-13 Nova Scotia curling jamboree held in Yarmouth.

They posted a 5-1 win over the Nadia Skelton team from the Mayflower Curling Club Sunday to take the provincial title.

Thirty-one teams took part in the Feb. 24-26 bonspiel.

The Yarmouth rink skipped by Joseph Doucet had two wins and four losses and the Ryan Richardson team from Barrington (with some Yarmouth players) had three wins and three losses.

The Doucet team included Cohen Garron (mate), Caelan DeViller (second) and Cole MacPherson (lead).

The Richardson included Emma Gould (mate), Paige Nickerson (second) and Robby Churchill (lead).

The Doucet team’s results from the three-day event (in chronological order):

--A 7-3 win over the Kolby Thompson team from Liverpool.

--A 6-1 loss to Mary Larade rink from Truro.

--A 5-3 loss to Katey O’Neil team from Dartmouth.

--A 9-0 loss to Zach Atherton team from Chester.

--A 4-2 win over Irelande McMahon team from Glooscap.

--A 4-1 loss to Breena Moore team from Berwick.

--An 11-2 loss to the Connor Smith team from CFB Halifax.

--A 3-1 win over Ava Martin team from Berwick.

--A 3-2 loss to Nadia Skelton team from Mayflower.

--A 4-3 loss to Tavia Lucas team from Dartmouth.

--A 3-1 win over Kolby Thompson team from Liverpool.

--A 3-0 win over Stephanie Atherton team from Chester.
