Some local hockey players were part of a Nova Scotia Atom Young Guns team that won the silver medal at a tournament held in Portland, Maine, Aug. 15-17.

During the tournament the Nova Scotia Young Guns team had two wins, one tie and one loss.

The Nova Scotia team played Maine Hockey Development in the gold medal game – the one team they had lost to earlier in the tournament. Maine won the gold medal with a 3-0 victory.

The N.S. team consisted of young hockey players from thoughtout the province who were selected during their spring hockey season. The players from this region on the team included Luke d'Eon from Pubnico, Ashton Doucette from Wedgeport, Ben Nickerson from Cape Island, and Nick Goodwin, Lathan Robinson and Avery Charlton all from Digby.
