Yarmouth County Minor Hockey Association (YCMHA) registration takes place in August.
The registration sessions, which all run from 6-8 p.m. at the Mariners Centre, are:
• Wednesday, Aug. 13
• Thursday, Aug. 14
• Monday, Aug. 18
• Tuesday, Aug. 19
Anyone intending to try out for a rep team must register at one of these sessions, or they must be registered with the hockey association by Wednesday, Aug. 27 by registering directly through the association. A $50 rep tryout fee is required at the time of the registration. There will be no registrations or payments accepted at tryouts. Any player not registered by the Aug. 27 will not be permitted on the ice for tryouts.
Players wanting to try out for a YCMHA rep team must first be registered with their own home association and have a signed release. They must also be registered for tryouts with YCMHA by Aug. 27.
A tryout schedule will be posted (with player names) on the YCMHA website by Saturday, Aug. 30.
Those who cannot make the August registration dates at the Mariners Centre can also register at Yarmouth Recreation. (Note: rep tryout registrations cannot be done through Yarmouth Recreation.)
The following is the list of registration rates for the upcoming minor hockey season. The rates have not changed from last year. (Note, the differences in registration costs reflect the different costs of referees needed to officiate games in the respective levels.) The rates each include a $100 recoverable fundraiser amount that people can recoup through the ticket sales. The $50 rep tryout fee is in addition to these rates.
• Initiation (Timbits) $240 + $100 for $340 total
• Atom $280 + $100 for $380 total
• Peewee $290 + $100 for $390 total
• Bantam $300 + $100 for $400 total
• Midget $310 + $100 for $410 total
• Family rate $750 plus recoverable amount (applies to three or more players in one family).
If people are paying by post-dated cheque half of the amount is required at registration time with the other half due by Dec. 1.
