“I always enjoy being back home in Yarmouth, especially when I get to join some friends for a round of golf,” said Graves. “This fundraising tournament will not only be a great day out on the course, but we will be raising money for an organization that has supported seniors for nearly 60 years.”

The tournament starts at 1 p.m.

Graves has been a rising hockey star since he first strapped on skates growing up in Yarmouth County. He played for Yarmouth Mariners AAA teams, as well as the major midget Canadian Tire Mustangs in Bridgewater.

He represented Team Nova Scotia in the 2011 Canada Winter Games.

In June 2013, Graves was drafted by the New York Rangers in the NHL draft.

“Ryan Graves is always ready to give back to the community he calls home,” said Phil Mooney, tournament organizer and chair of the Villa St. Joseph du lac Foundation. “We are very excited he agreed to be part of this important fundraising event. The money Ryan is helping us raise will go directly to provide a better quality of life for many seniors from our area.”

Web.com is the presenting sponsor of the event which will see up to 21 teams tee off in support of the Villa Foundation. Teams will enjoy a steak barbecue and generous prizes including packages from Rodd Resorts & Hotels and Nova Star Cruises.

An exciting contest will also see three players drawn for a chance to take a shot to win $1 million dollars in a hole-in-one contest. There is also a putting contest for a chance to win $5,000. The hole-in-one contest gives participants a chance to win a 2015 Chrysler 2000. Also up for grabs is a brand new set of TaylorMade Rocketbladez irons, a $500 online shopping spree, and vacation package from Tournament Players Club, San Antonio Texas

This is the second year for this annual fundraising golf tournament in support of the Villa Saint-Joseph du Lac. Last year, the event raised over $5,000 for the not-for-profit long term care facility which provides a home for up to 79 residents.
