Tuesday game to determine high school girls' regional host

A game being played in Yarmouth on Tuesday, Oct. 14, between the YCMHS girls varsity soccer team and Central Kings will determine which girls soccer team in the league hosts regionals, as the game will also determine who finishes in first place in high school league action.

The game will be played at the old Yarmouth high school field. Game time is 4:30 p.m.

Central kings has a record of 4 wins and 1 tie and Yarmouth has a record of 4 wins and 1 loss. If Central Kings wins or ties, they will host regionals in Coldbrook.

If Yarmouth wins, then regional play will be at the old high school field this Friday and Saturday.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Central Kings won the game 4-0.

The Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School played three games last week. The team defeated North Kings Education Centre at home on Oct. 9 by a score of 3-2. Goal scorers for Yarmouth were Shayna Heroux (2) and Kaylee Blair.

One day earlier the team had shut out West Kings 6-0 in a game played in Greenwood. Scoring for Yarmouth were Laura Legere (2), Jalisa Fells (2), Andrea Oguntada and Lindsey Minard.

And on Oct. 6, Yarmouth defeated West Kings 7-1 in league play at home. Scoring for Yarmouth were Sophie Atkinson (3), Kaylee Blair, Shayna Heroux, Laura Legere and Jalisa Fells.
