South West Fusion win medals at first weekend of Volleyball Nova Scotia provincials

YARMOUTH, N.S. – South West Fusion Volleyball had a good showing at the first weekend of Volleyball Nova Scotia provincials.

The South West Fusion 16U girls came in third at Volleyball Nova Scotia provincials for a bronze medal finish.

The 16U girls came in third in tier one, beating Axe in their consolation match to win the bronze medal. Macy d'Eon was named all-star. The team is coached by Carissa Amirault and Curtis Muise. In the round robin Fusion had a 2-1 record and the lost in the semi-final. The scores in their final match were 25-7, 21-25, 18-16.

The 16U boys came in second in tier 1, losing to Dartmouth in the championship match to bring home the silver medal. Josh Cottreau and Braidey Spinney were named to the all-star team. The team is coached by Claudette Deveau and Jamie Cottreau. The boys final scores in two sets were 20-25 and 21-25.

The 14U girls came in 7th out of 32 teams. The team is coached by Daniel Muise and Tommy Muise.

This weekend will see the South West Fusion 14U boys, the 15U girls and both the 18U girls and boys in action at their respective provincials in Halifax.
