YARMOUTH, N.S. – The Fusion U16 boys volleyball team brought home gold from the Axe tournament that was held March 24 in West Kings.
The Fusion U16 team lost to Tide Red during the round robin but won both of their matches during crossovers. Fusion met up with Red Tide for the gold medal match winning 25-23 and 25-22 to capture gold.
The team is coached by Claudette Deveau and Jamie Cottreau. Also assisting in coaching at the tournament was Alec Cottreau.
The Fusion team will be competing in the last Volleyball Nova Scotia Super Series in Truro on April 7 before heading to provincials on April 21 at the Canada Games Centre in Halifax.

The U15 Tier 1 Fusion girls are hosting a Super Series at Ecole Par-en-Bas on April 7 and 8. It’s the third Super Series happening before provincials.
These are the dates for various upcoming provincials:
Weekend One: 14U Girls April 20-21; 16U Boys and 16U Girls April 21-22.
Weekend Two: 13U Girls and 15U Girls April 27-28; 14U Boys, 18U Boys and 18U Girls April 28-29.
