Hundreds attend 11th Annual Walk of Lights in Weymouth

Event includes magical trail through forest, lit by candles

WEYMOUTH, N.S.: Organizers say a record 550 people attended the 11th annual Walk of Lights held each year at Vintage Farms Inc. just outside of Weymouth.

The evening event offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy hot food, warm drinks, live music and a magical walk through a forest, lit by candles, inside hundreds of mason jars, strung up with wire on shrubs and trees. The walk culminates in a bonfire by the lake's edge, where visitors gathered to sing seasonal favourites.

This year, organizers say they raised $2,700 for local charities. On the Vintage Farms Facebook page, organizers posted the following comment: "Our annual walk has become a family tradition for many and is a great way to enjoy nature community and family all wrapped up in one beautiful candlelit package."

They also thanked the many volunteers who help each year to make this event possible.
