WEYMOUTH, N.S. — The annual Weymouth ATV appreciation weekend recently took place.
It was the biggest appreciation event yet, with approximately 115 ATVs on Saturday, June 15 and 83 on Sunday, June 16.
An escorted ride took place to New France. There were people from HRM, Chester and elsewhere on the South Shore, Quebec and New Brunswick taking part. Visitors from outside Digby County were impressed with the riding opportunities and many said they would be returning next year.
It was estimated that some $15,000 to $18,000 was pumped into the local economy in Weymouth, Smith's Cove and Digby.
The monies raised by Sou'West Nova ATV Association and the Digby ATV Club will be spent on trail repairs such as culverts, bridges, etc.
