LOWER EEL BROOK, N.S. — A new organization called Les Amie Du Ste Anne has been formed to raise funds for ongoing renovations of Ste. Anne's Church, an iconic landmark in the Municipality of Argyle.
Over the next 18 months the group aims to raise between $35,000 and $50,000 through a variety of community activities.
The program got underway on June 23 with an official launch, lunch and information session. Chairman David Shufelt outlined the plans, thanked participants and encouraged the community to get involved.
The event included music by Andre and Alexa, who will be participating in future events.
The first event is a Junk in the Trunk Sale, which will include a barbecue, flea market and bake sale. This will take place on church grounds, Saturday, July 27, from9 a.m. to 1p.m. Setup for vendors will be at 8 a.m. Places can be reserved by calling 902-648-2150. Parking spaces are $10, $15 with a table, and $10 for a table.
