It was another good turnout for Experience of Argyle, an annual event in Tusket presented by the Municipality of Arygle.
This was the fifth year for the event, which again consisted of two segments: Showcase of Argyle and Taste of Argyle.
The “showcase” portion of the evening included speakers, entertainment and the presentation of the Municipality of Argyle’s Compass Award, which this year went to Dr. Peter Loveridge.
Out of the area at the time, Dr. Loveridge had family accept the award on his behalf.
The award recognizes the efforts of community leaders who, like a compass, have “helped guide their community in the right direction.”
Sandra Phinney and Miguel d’Eon were guest speakers and Alain Muise, the Municipality of Argyle’s chief administrative officer, reviewed the past year from the municipality’s perspective.
West Nova MP Chris d’Entremont served as MC for the Nov. 14 event.
Following the showcase, which was held in the Père Maurice LeBlanc theatre, the scene shifted to the Par-en-Bas school cafeteria and another room for Taste of Argyle, a chance for people to sample cuisine from local restaurants and food vendors.
Proceeds from Experience of Argyle go to the Argyle Emergency Aid Fund.
Details regarding attendance for this year’s event and the amount of money raised were unavailable when this was being written.
