YARMOUTH, N.S. — The Yarmouth Garden Club’s annual plant sale will be held Tuesday, May 21, at the NSCC Burridge Campus gym, 5:30 - 7:30 pm.
Members will bring items between 2:30 - 5 p.m.
Organizers say the sale is a major fund raiser for the club and has been very successful in the past.
Plants are from member’s gardens and include perennials that needed to be divided, shrub prunings rooted in pots, ivy, berrybush and houseplants.
There are several business vendors this year: Phillip Lee will be selling his handmade rope baskets, Alice d’Entremont of Ouest-ville Perennials in Pubnico will talk about and sell succulents as well as flower pots and Storm Cast (seaweed compost product).
Neil LeBlanc of Growing Green will have bagged earthworm castings fertilizer for sale. Manzers will be demonstrating their beehives.
Paul Surrette will have his handcrafted wood furniture, trellises, birdhouses and decorative stones and, new to the club this year, Avon River Metalwork's handcrafted decorative iron garden sculptures will be for sale.
There will also be door prizes and a raffle table with donations from various businesses, plus a yard sale table of donated gardening items. Food, coffee, punch and snacks will be available.
