MIDDLETON, N.S. - Hundreds of kids of all ages turned out for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Visit from Santa, and lots hot chocolate recently at Centennial Park in Middleton.
There was a bonfire, music by the Idle Threats, a free skate at the arena, and fireworks. And it was Downtown Midnight Madness with some local shops open later with lots of great deals.
Santa and Mrs. Santa arrived by fire truck, but tagging along for the ride was the Grinch for tried to steal the show but was quickly upstaged by the Jolly Old Elf who was the centre of attention for dozens of kids who got to rhyme of their Christmas lists as they sat on his lap.
The fun continued on Dec. 1 with a Community Christmas Party in the morning at Annapolis East Elementary School which included a bouncy castle, face painting, crafts, music, cookie decorating, and of course another visit from Santa.
On Dec. 2 there was another free skate at the arena in a weekend of fun.
