BARRINGTON - More than $105,000 has been raised for the Rosalin Nickerson CARE Fund this year, following the annual fundraiser Walk for a Cause, held Sept. 15 at the Barrington Regional Curling Club.
Hundreds of people attended the event held in support of the Rosalin Nickerson CARE Fund, which helps cancer patients throughout the Municipality of Barrington and the Town of Clark’s Harbour financially, emotionally and spiritually.
This year marked the 12th annual Walk for a Cause. The event is not only the annual culmination of fundraising efforts for the fund, it is also a celebration of cancer survivors and a memorial tribute to those who lost the battle. Since being started in 2004, the fund has helped 331 people, dispersing close to $600,000.
