Town of Yarmouth launches Christmas season with lighting of tree and Frost Park

Community event traditionally held day before the Christmas parade

YARMOUTH - A huge crowd joined in the countdown for the lighting of the town's Christmas tree in Yarmouth on Friday night (Nov. 24). This year’s tree was donated by the Acadia First Nation. The Strolling Carolers entertained with songs, Santa made an appearance and hot chocolate was served in Frost Park, which has been decorated for the season with thousands of Christmas lights sparkling in trees, shrubs and gazebo.

The Christmas Parade of Lights takes place at 6 p.m. tonight (Saturday), The theme this year is "Celebrating 150 Years of Canadian Christmases."
