YARMOUTH, N.S. — Town of Yarmouth staff are being asked to develop a concept for redevelopment of the Collins Street parking lot.
Deputy Mayor Phil Mooney brought the subject up at the July 24 Committee of the Whole meeting.
He referred to the lot as being “piecemeal,” containing a gravel section where the former Roach house was demolished and removed earlier this year, plus having several outbuildings that Mooney questioned the necessity of.
“I’d like to see the parking lot well organized and revamped,” said Mooney.
“People just don’t realize that we actually have a lot of parking downtown,” he said.
Last year, the parking lot site was used in conceptual plans for a proposed art centre, however there has been no discussion of that recently.
