YARMOUTH, N.S. — A Yarmouth County man is facing numerous charges following reports of alleged dangerous driving and a vehicle that fled from the RCMP twice when the police tried to stop it.

At 4:18 p.m. on March 8, Yarmouth Rural RCMP responded to a complaint of an erratic driver on Hwy. 3 near the Yarmouth Airport. The complainant reported the other driver passed on a double solid line, nearly forcing him and two other vehicles off the road.

According to an RCMP media release, the suspect vehicle, a red SUV, was located by police on Hwy 3 near the detachment and a traffic stop was attempted. The driver failed to stop for police and sped away.

The same vehicle was seen turning in to Robinson Road. Police again attempted to stop it, and the vehicle sped away a second time, back towards Hwy. 3, turning left in a dangerous manner. A short time later, RCMP dispatch advised they had a report of a red SUV off the road near the intersection of the Wyman Road and Chebogue Road.

An RCMP police dog team was in the area and located the driver and arrested him with the assistance of detachment members. No one was hurt during the incident. The RCMP has interviewed several witnesses who were able to provide evidence of the erratic driving.

As a result, Keith Arthur Siscoe, 33, of Yarmouth County is charged with four Criminal Code offences:

• Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

• Impaired Driving by Alcohol

• Flight From Police (2 counts)

• Resisting Arrest

He is also charged with two Motor Vehicle Act Offences:

• Driving While License Revoked

• Operating an Unregistered Vehicle

Siscoe was taken to cells at the Yarmouth Rural Detachment and will be held in custody until a court appearance Monday, March 11 in Yarmouth. The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be laid.
