YARMOUTH, N.S. — Due to the potential weather threats associated with Hurricane Dorian, organizers have rescheduled the Starlight Runway Run to Oct. 5.
Those who have registered have several options on how to participate. They can reschedule, in which case their registration would automatically carry over.
Another option is to turn the run into a Virtual Run. Race kit, t-shirt and medal can be picked up at Runner's Attic on Sept. 6 between 5-7 p.m. and the event can be completed on your own schedule. If you're not local to Yarmouth/surrounding area let organizers know and they will do their best to make arrangements to get the kit to you. Email if you want to participate in the virtual event.
Lastly, participants can move their registration to the 2020 event. Race kits, medals and t-shirts will be offered to those who can make the event on Oct. 5 and the deferred participant will receive the 2020 race kit next year. Email if you want to defer.
Race director Candice Phibbs says 235 regular runners and 10 virtual runners were registered for the Sept. 7 event.
"(It was) Quite a bounce back from last year. Everything was on track for the best year yet. Until this hurricane...," she said.
