YARMOUTH, N.S. — One of three people charged in connection with a robbery that involved a 77-year-old victim last fall entered a guilty plea to a charge of conspiracy during a provincial court appearance in Yarmouth.
Lacey Heidi Pauline Heroux entered the guilty plea on Feb. 19. The charge states she and others conspired to comment the offence of break and enter into a residence “by sharing information to travel together.”
A sentencing date of May 28 was set. A pre-sentence report has been requested. Other charges she is facing that stem from the incident are expected to be dismissed on the day of her sentencing.
According to the RCMP, on Sept. 13, 2018, a senior from Plymouth, Yarmouth County, was grabbed from behind on his property by two masked individuals who demanded money and then forced him to drive them to another location where they fled on foot. The suspects had taken the man’s cell phone and threw his keys away.
The man, who sustained a minor injury to his face during the incident, was able to find his keys, drove home and called 911.
Two other people who are facing charges of robbery, break and enter, unlawful confinement and wearing a disguise while committing an offence, have court dates coming up.
Tyler John Rawcliffe is due in court on Feb. 26 and Craig Andrew Pike is set to appear on March 11. Both court appearances are listed for showcause/bail hearings.
Their matters have been before the court since September 2018.
