A total of 63,369 power outages remaining across Nova Scotia Wednesday morning

SYDNEY, N.S. — On Wednesday at about 10 a.m., the Nova Scotia Power outage map showed 6,131 active outages remaining across Nova Scotia, 63,369 people affected.

For Cape Breton most of the larger pockets of outages affecting 101-1,000 customers was expected to have been restored by Tuesday night.

Many smaller pockets of outages remained on Wednesday including Ingonish Beach, Sydney, Glace Bay, Whycocomagh and Port Hawkesbury. Isolated pockets of outages litter the entire island.

On Tuesday a NSP spokesperson said they dealt with the larger issues first and now are getting into the worst, some complex smaller outages which will be managed over the next couple of days.

NSP expected the smaller isolated outages to be restored by 11 p.m. Thursday.
