SHUBENACADIE, N.S. — Shubenacadie Sam will be out on Groundhog Day to make his annual weather prediction, but you can check on how he's doing now.

Sam can be seen on webcam, although he’s sometimes napping inside his house. He’s likely to be appearing for breakfast at 9:30 each morning.

People are invited to visit the wildlife park in Shubenacadie on Feb. 2 to see Sam make his prediction on when spring will arrive. Festivities start at 7 a.m. with Sam's prediction at 8 a.m.

Free hot drinks, face-painting and interactive displays will be set up in the Wetland Centre from 7 a.m.-1 p.m., and people will be able to check out the animals in the park free from 8:15 a.m. until noon. From noon until 3 p.m. admission will be charged.

The gift shop, with limited edition Sam merchandise, will be open from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
