Sometime overnight on July 20 subjects entered Rotary Park and started a stock car that had been left inside the fence from the previous weekend’s Heart of the Valley Festival activities. Once operational, the car was driven on the field tearing up the grass, then ran into the fencing damaging several poles. The car then entered the new concrete skating bowl damaging some of the concrete before getting stuck.
There was extensive damage to the new community skate park that had been officially opened the weekend before.
Police said they will be seeking restitution for the damage to the skate park.
In a statement, RCMP thanked the general public for their assistance in solving the crime.
