Sydney Mines accused charged with multiple break and enters

MILLVILLE, N.S. — A 27-year-old Sydney Mines man is facing a host of charges after being arrested in connection with a number of break, enter and thefts that occurred in the Millville area.

Corey Patrick Blinkhorn is charged with five counts of break and enter, five counts of trespassing at night, four counts of auto theft and three counts of mischief.

Victoria County RCMP report that during the early morning hours of Nov. 17, Baddeck RCMP responded to a report of a man who had entered a garage and tried to steal the vehicle inside.

During the course of their investigation, police were also alerted that a number of homes and vehicles in the area, including some in neighbouring Cape Breton County, were also identified as having been broken into.

Blinkhorn has been remanded and is now scheduled to appear in Port Hawkesbury provincial court Jan. 8.
