DIGBY, N.S. — The emergency department at Digby General Hospital will be closed: Thursday, May 16 at 6 p.m. and will reopen on Friday, May 17 at 8 a.m.
On Sunday, May 19 it will be closed at 1 p.m. and reopen on Monday, May 20 at 8 a.m.
This is due to a lack of physician availability.
Anyone with urgent medical needs should call 911, particularly if experiencing unusual symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest tightness, abdominal pain, persistent headache or dizziness, or an injury requiring stitches or involving a broken bone.
For non-urgent care, please call your family doctor or primary care provider. For general health advice and information call 811, which is a service offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week by experienced registered nurses.
