Yarmouth RCMP lay charges and have other charges pending following robbery investigation

YARMOUTH, N.S. – The Yarmouth RCMP have laid charges stemming from a Nov. 13 alleged robbery in which they say a man was robbed at knife point.

Freddy Keeping, 39, of Yarmouth, has been charged with the following offences:

• Trafficking Cocaine

• Robbery

• Wearing a Mask During the Commission of an Offence

• Possession of a Weapon for the Purpose of Committing an Offence

• Extortion

Keeping was arrested on Nov. 13 and was remanded in custody. He is due back in court on Nov. 26.

According to the RCMP, at 12:41 a.m. on Nov. 13, an alleged robbery was reported to Yarmouth Town RCMP via 911. The RCMP say an incident occurred on the south end of Main Street, where a man was said to have been robbed at knife point. The RCMP say suspects cut the 64-year-old victim's pocket and took his wallet, which contained cash and identification.

Two women are also facing charges in connection with this incident. The charges had not been laid at the time of this story so the RCMP could not yet release their names.

A 31-year-old female from Yarmouth is facing a charge of armed robbery. She was released on documents after her arrest and is to attend court on Dec. 11.

A 49-year-old woman from Yarmouth is facing a charge of trafficking cocaine. She was released on documents following her arrest and is to attend court on Dec. 11.

At the time the offence occurred the RCMP say some of the suspects had hoodies on and had their faces partially covered.
