SURETTE, A. Rosalind – age 95, Nakile Home for Special Care, Argyle, formerly of Sluice Point, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in the home. Born March 19, 1923 in Sluice Point, she was a daughter of the late Antoine and Mary Rose (Muise) Bourque. Rosalind was a homemaker. She enjoyed making quilt-tops, collecting cookbooks, watching hummingbirds and listening to Radio CIFA. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret (Hector) DeViller, Melbourne; Corinne (Bruce) Surette, Amirault’s Hill; Gisele (David) Munro, Bedford and Bernadette (Paul) Muise, Amirault’s Hill, as well as by nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Aside from her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Henri E. Surette as well as by brothers Anselme, Antoine and Raymond Bourque and sisters Caroline Surette and Anna Surette. Visitation took place from 7-9 p.m., Thursday with prayers at 8 p.m. at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 13 at 2 p.m. from Holy Family Catholic Church in Amirault’s Hill, Father Maurice LeBlanc officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Rosalind may be made to Holy Family Cemetery Fund or to Nakile Home for Special Care.
