Antoinette "Toni" Belliveau
BELLIVEAU, Antoinette “Toni” Marie (Comeau) - 94 years of age, passed away in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on Friday, June 15, 2018. Born on September 8, 1923 in Comeauville, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of Ulysses Comeau and Evangeline (LeBlanc) Comeau, both of Comeauville. After her husband, Gérald, graduated from l’Université de Laval, they eventually settled in Yarmouth where Gérald practiced medicine and her children attended school. She was a devoted homemaker most of her life, having worked a few years, for Coleen Campbell, MP for SouthWest Nova. In her younger years, she was an avid bowler, bowling on the Spoofs team for many years and was very proud to have bowled 99 without a mark. She loved her weekly bridge games with her friends. She was preceded by her husband Gérald, her son Claude, her granddaughter Jenna, brother Gérald and her sisters Aimée and Jeannette, brothers-in-law Robert Belliveau, Father Paul Belliveau, Normand Pothier, Louis Comeau; sister-in-law Florence Comeau. Left behind to mourn are daughters Joline, Colette, Denise (John); sons Marc, Marcel (Lynn); grandchildren Natasha (Mark), Mandy (Shankar), Julian, Réjeanne, Monique, Yvette, Colby and Christian (Arielle), and four great grandchildren, Jude, Jack, Veda and Will; her brother Alyre, brother-in-law Pierre; sisters-in-law Mariette Comeau, Lorraine Comeau, Rose Belliveau, Jeannine Belliveau. Visitation took place from 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday with prayers at 8 p.m., both at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 20 at Saint Ambrose Co-Cathedral, Albert St., Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth. A special thank you to Bonnie Cann for her kindness to Mame in the final years of her life. Thank you to Dr. Dave Webster and the nurses on 4N, Yarmouth Regional Hospital for making mom’s final months comfortable. Donations may be made to Shyft House.
