D’ENTREMONT, Blair Joseph – age 92, Lower West Pubnico, died at Foyer Céleste in Meteghan on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018. Born in Lower West Pubnico, he was the son of the late Marcel J. d’Entremont and Gladys Ann d’Entremont. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Dolores, with whom a beautiful vow of love was exchanged at their last encounter. Survived by his five children, Carmella Arsenault (Ronald), Saint John, NB; Rowena d’Entremont (Lindsay), Lower West Pubnico; Cyrilla Saunders, Stratford, PEI; Nelda Adams (Timmy), Shag Harbour; Floyd d’Entremont (Leona), Lower West Pubnico; a sister, Priscille d’Entremont, Pont-du-Marais, Lower West Pubnico. He was also predeceased by a brother, Alyre d’Entremont (Elena) of Lower West Pubnico. Also surviving are grandchildren, Murielle Arsenault, Lilianne Kydd, Whitney Oikle, Pierre Arsenault, Rachelle d’Entremont, Jean-Marc d’Entremont, Giselle d’Entremont, Maria Adams, Samantha and Aliya Saunders; great grandchildren, Lyric, Emma, Annie, Chloé and Graydon. Blair started his fishing career at the age of 15 and continued to fish until he was 74 years old. As an adult, he was the captain of his vessels. Lobstering, swordfishing and longlining were what he enjoyed. He was always respected and liked by his crew, as well as in the community. He was a kind, gentle and soft-spoken man; a very forgiving man with a gentle spirit. He loved music and more often than not, he would be humming a song. He absolutely loved cats. As a young man he was a good swimmer and enjoyed his motorcycles. He was loved by his family and will be missed. Thank you dad for all that you are. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Yarmouth. An opportunity to meet friends took place for one hour prior to the service (9-10 a.m.), immediately followed by the funeral Mass which was held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., both at Saint Pierre Church, West Pubnico, Father Cyrille Assihou officiated, assisted by Father Maurice LeBlanc. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation.
