DUNCANSON, Dale Ruth Dale Ruth Duncanson, age 75 of Yarmouth, NS and formerly of Gavelton, Yarmouth County, passed away peacefully, with her husband George and brother Larry by her side, on January 11, 2020 at the Meadow's Home for Special Care. Born in Hebron, Yarmouth NS, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ruth Hipson. Dale was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. She had a heart of gold but wasn't afraid to stick up for herself. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. Dale worked as a bookkeeper for the family business's including Vaughn Lake Construction, Vaughn Lake B&B and Vaughn Lake Concrete. She especially loved working at the B&B meeting new people and ensuring their stay was perfect. Many times, receiving returning guests the coming seasons and post cards from satisfied guests for the extra thought and effort. In Dale's spare time she enjoyed gardening and hobby farming, owning both chickens and cow's along with her dogs and cats. Dale's true passion was her animals and her children, with some people jokingly saying in that order. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, George Duncanson; daughter, Meredith Walsh, Hebron; sons, Jim Duncanson, Mark Duncanson, Ontario; brothers, Ray (Shirley) Hipson, Sandford, Keith (Maxine) Hipson, Hebron, Larry (MaryLou) Hipson, Hebron, Peter Hipson, Hebron; grandchildren, Leeah Walsh, Yarmouth, Samantha Duncanson, David Duncanson, Rythem, Cylis; great-grandchildren, Hailee, Lilyanna, Elliott and Alijah. Besides her parents, Dale was predeceased by her son, James ‘Jim’ Duncanson in 2015. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A celebration of Dale's life will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 2 p.m. from Sweeny's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev A.D ‘Bill’ Newell officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory may be made to The Meadows (Brook House).
