Dennis Pottier — Yarmouth

POTTIER, Dennis William – age 84, Tusket, Yarmouth Co., passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with his family at his side. Born May 17, 1934 in Belleville, he was a son of the late J. Phillip and A. Frances (Dulong) Pottier. Dennis was a construction supervisor with his greatest achievement being the Kentville Research Station. The last 10 years of his career he was employed with Irving Oil Construction overseeing large projects across South West Nova. He was an avid deer hunter, having never missed a year of hunting since he began at the age of 16. He was also a great pool player and he enjoyed playing cards. He will be remembered as an honest and hard-working man, who was also a perfectionist, values that he instilled in his three children. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Doreen E. (Hubbard) Pottier, as well as by their children, Debbie (Tony) Zwicker, Loon Lake, Ayelsford; Dan Pottier, Wolfville and Phil Pottier, New Minas, along with grandchildren, Candice and Kyle and a great grandson, Jackson. He also leaves behind a brother, James (Barbara) Pottier, Tusket. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a son, David Pottier in infancy, as well siblings, Eve Disley, Gerald Pottier, Irene Vacon and Genevieve Kane who all lived in the United States. Visitation took place from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, July 27, both at H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Yarmouth, Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiated.
