Edna Spurr — Yarmouth

SPURR, Edna May – age 83 of Yarmouth, N.S. passed away peacefully on June 29, 2019 at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Lake George, Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter to the late Hanford and Anna (Killam) Ellis. Edna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was a homemaker who took great pride in raising her children. She loved to knit, especially mittens to provide to people to warm their hands. Everyone who knew her loved her and she loved them back. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Jim) Childs, Fort Nelson, B.C.; Evelyn Spurr, Yarmouth; Gail (Pat) Newell, Plymouth; Carol (John) Deveau, South Ohio; Anne (George) Muise, Yarmouth; sons, Jim (Julie) Spurr, Yarmouth; Fred Spurr (Amanda LeBlanc), Fort Nelson, B.C.; Jack (Alana) Spurr, Brazil Lake; 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Spurr; and sister, Gertrude Croft. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Raymond Pitcher officiated. Interment followed in Yarmouth Mountain and Norwood Cemeteries.
