Edward Warner — Yarmouth

WARNER, Edward Joseph – age 88, Abram’s River, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born November 12, 1929 in Abram’s River, he was a son of the late George and Estelle (LeBlanc) Warner. Edward worked at mink farms for Archie d’Entremont, Les Wood and Ray Belliveau, as well as doing maintenance work for Alfred LeBlanc. Edward always enjoyed gardening and in his later years enjoyed working with wood, spending many hours in his barn whittling miniature animals. He is survived by his wife, Nora (Doucette) Warner, as well as by their daughter, Wanda (Charles) Saulnier, Abram’s River; sons, Albert (Bertha) Surette, Abram’s River and Glendon (Gail) Surette, Melbourne, as well as by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Clarence (Verly) Warner, Don (Carol) Warner, Ernest (Gloria) Warner, all of Abram’s River; James (Alma) Warner, Yarmouth; David (Linda) Warner, Melvin Warner, Stan (Roberta) Warner, all of Abram’s River; Abel Warner, Tusket; sisters, Beatrice Duncan, Rockville; Loretta Pothier, Wedgeport; Virginia Doucette, Abram’s River; Marion LeBlanc, Wedgeport; Margaret (Paul) Dill, Edmonton, AB; Jeanette Warner (Dave Harris), Melbourne, as well as by many nieces and nephews. Aside from his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Hazen (Phyllis) Surette; sisters, Ethel d’Entremont, Constance Randall and Lillian Warner-Semler, as well as by a brother, Raymond Warner. The family received friends at H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth from 7 to 9 Sunday evening, with prayers at 8 p.m. The funeral Mass took place at 11 a.m., Monday, May 21 from Saint Anne’s Church, Ste. Anne-du-Ruisseau, Father Albéni d’Entremont officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. Donations in memory of Edward may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
