Esther Budd — Kentville

Budd, Esther Ruth (Dalton), Beaver River, passed away October 3, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital at the age of 96, following hip surgery. Born in Springdale, NS, April 7, 1922, she was the daughter to the late Amy (Wood) and Alfred Dalton. Esther loved her family and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, camping and long walks on the beach, just to name a few. She enjoyed keeping house, loved her family and friends, who were always welcome for a meal or a cup of tea. She was always ready with a helping hand to all. She was a faithful member of the Beaver River United Baptist Church for many years. Esther was sweet, generous and loving, her personality that even dementia could not extinguish. She is survived by daughter Sharon; sisters Dorothy (Wayne) Prime, Digby; Amy Thompson, Shelburne; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband James; sister Anna Barr; brothers Vernon, Edward, William, Lawrence, Reginald and Ernest. Visitation was Friday, October 5, 2018, 7-9 pm. from Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. Funeral service was held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2 pm. also from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Yarmouth, Rev. Keith Moore officiating. Burial was in the Port Maitland/ Beaver River Cemetery following the Service. Memorial donations may be made to the Beaver River United Baptist Church, Acadia Divinity College, Alzheimer’s Society or charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth.
