HURLBERT, Forman Charles, age 83 of Canaan, passed away peacefully at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on February 17, 2019. Born February 27, 1935, he was a son to the late Loran and Pauline (Yorke) Hurlbert. Also known as “Herb”, over the years Forman worked in the logging business, he did some farming, trapping and peddling. He loved the outdoors and having company. He was always telling a yarn and his stories were usually long. He believed in the Lord and loved his Bible. He was also a lover of Fords, except for the last pick up truck he purchased was a Chev. He is survived by his loving wife Irene, Canaan; daughters, Debbie Winterton, Winnipeg; Paula Messervey, Bridgewater; step sons, Leo LeRoy Jr., Yarmouth; Patrick Rhyno, Yarmouth; Eddie Russel, New Brunswick; step daughter, Rhiannon Leadlay, Vancouver; 2 grandchildren; brothers, Doug (Evelyn), Canaan; Allison (Ginny), Annapolis Valley; sister, Janice, Canaan; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother in law, Albert Campbell Sr. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation was Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 7-9pm. from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Yarmouth. Funeral Service took place Friday, February 22, 2019 at 2pm. also from the Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel, Rev A.D. “Bill” Newell officiated. Memorial donations may be made to the Canaan Church or the Riverview Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Wertlin and the nursing staff of 3 east at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital for their support and care he received during his last days.
