LeBLANC, Joseph Louis – age 75, Hebron, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2018 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born November 28, 1942 in Surette’s Island, he was a son of the late David A. and Ann Estelle (Fitzgerald) LeBlanc. Joseph worked as a scallop fisherman for a number of years and he was a member of the Native Council of Nova Scotia. He enjoyed woodworking, bingo and his dog, Nemo. He is survived by sons, Joseph L. LeBlanc (Amanda Warner), Lloydminster, AB; Dwayne W. LeBlanc (Angie Rushton), Dartmouth; Darren F. LeBlanc (Darcy Tower), Malagash; three grandchildren; a special nephew, Edward (Jennifer) Muise, Hebron. Also surviving are brothers, David LeBlanc, Harvey LeBlanc, both of Yarmouth; Edward (Ida) LeBlanc, Tusket, as well as a sister, Jeanette (Bobby) Muise, Yarmouth. Aside from his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Deborah V. (Langthorne) LeBlanc and a sister, Annie Moulaison. Visitation took place from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth with prayers at 8 p.m., where memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 4 at Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
